About this place
Bring your dog and escape the noise in this peaceful Lake Martin retreat. Enjoy a fully fenced backyard, doggie door to a screened porch, and quiet mornings with birds and calm nights with crickets. At sunset, string lights glow over the patio and fire pit, creating the perfect unwind space. Inside is a spotless 3BR home with fast WiFi, fresh linens, and a fully stocked kitchen. Ideal for pets, weddings, fishing trips, or relaxing weekends. Book now and enjoy a true lakeside home away from home. LAKE-ADJACENT, THE HONEST WAY You're directly across the street from Lake Martin — a short, easy walk to public access, with secure parking for boats, trailers, and trucks right at the house. You'll catch lake views from the property and you're minutes from Wind Creek State Park and the boat ramp (about 8 minutes — anglers, this one's for you). One honest note: this is a lake-ADJACENT home, not private waterfront — no dock or private shoreline — which is exactly why it stays so peaceful. BUILT FOR DOGS A fully fenced backyard gives your dog room to run, and a doggie door leads straight out to the screened porch so they can come and go while you relax. Travelers with pets are our most frequent — and happiest — guests. EVENINGS OUTSIDE String lights over the patio, a fire pit with seating, and two porches to choose from. The screened-in back porch is the star — shaded, breezy, made for slow mornings with coffee. Out front, a second porch with a gas grill is built for cookouts. A KITCHEN YOU'LL ACTUALLY COOK IN Center island, newer appliances, drip + Keurig coffee, and the essentials stocked. Bring your favorite spices and you're set. COMFORTABLE INSIDE, FAST WIFI Plush living-room seating, a smart TV, and fast WiFi throughout — easy whether you're winding down or working remote at the dedicated desk. THREE WAYS TO REST Master with a king, second bedroom with a queen, third with a full — plus a smart TV in every room, fresh cotton linens, and new mattresses. THE EXTRAS THAT ADD UP In-unit washer & dryer, strong AC for Alabama summers, single-level layout, and plenty of secure parking for trucks, boats, and trailers. WHY GUESTS REBOOK Spotless, peaceful, and genuinely pet-ready — and a host who answers fast (usually within the hour). "Felt right at home" is the line we hear most. The whole home is yours, inside and out — both porches, the fenced backyard, and the fire pit. Self check-in with a smart lock makes arrival easy at any hour. Getting here: use WIND CREEK ROAD to reach the house — some GPS apps route you down Peppers Road, which is partly unpaved. We'll send clear directions before check-in. A car is the way to go here — the lake and everything around it is a short, easy drive, and there's plenty of free parking right at the house for cars, trucks, boats, and trailers. Public lake access is just a short walk across the street. Nearby: → ~8 min to the Wind Creek boat ramp (fishing trips — park the rig at the house) → 9 min to Fanny Goldmine Diner → 12 min to Wind Creek State Park (hiking, beach, day use) → 13 min to Kowaliga Restaurant (lakeside dining) → ~15 min to Children's Harbor & the Kowaliga lighthouse → ~15 min to town for groceries, gas, and restaurants Good to know: - Use WIND CREEK ROAD when you navigate — some GPS apps route you onto Peppers Road, which is partly unpaved. We'll send exact directions before check-in. - No rideshare or transit to count on out here — plan to have a vehicle. We're excited to host you. Before you confirm your booking, please be aware that we require guests to sign a separate rental agreement as part of the booking process. This agreement outlines important details about your stay, including house rules, check-in/check-out procedures, and other essential information. Early Check-In & Late Check-Out Early check-ins and late check-outs are subject to availability. If available, the fee is $20.00 per hour (minimum of one hour). Please reach out as soon as possible if you’d like to request an extension. Security & Monitoring For the safety and security of our guests and the property, we have motion-activated cameras installed on the exterior areas only. These cameras record audio and video and monitor entrances, patios, and pool areas (if applicable). Additionally, we use a noise monitoring device inside the property. This device does not record audio or video but helps us ensure that noise levels remain respectful for neighbors. AGE REQUIREMENTS The primary booking guest must be at least 21 years of age for an apartment and age 25 for a single family house. The primary booking guest is required to be present for the duration of the stay and is responsible for all guests, visitors, and compliance with house rules. Reservations made by guests who do not meet the minimum age requirement may be canceled prior to check-in or during the stay, without refund, if the age requirement is found to be misrepresented. This policy is in place for safety, insurance, and property protection purposes and is applied consistently to all guests.

★★★★★
Great place close to a trail that leads to a boat launch and play/swimming area. Home was ice cold when coming in from the August heat and the patio fans were a welcome addition. Great home away from home!

We loved our stay, made us feel right at home. Everything we needed was there. Definitely will stay here again when we go to visit our son at college. Thank you for an amazing peaceful stay.

Perfect spot for those who have dogs! We loved the big fenced in backyard and screened in porch. Location is close to the State Park which is ideal for those with boats.

★★★☆☆
We enjoyed aspects of this stay, especially the dog‑friendly setup. The pet door and accommodations for traveling with our dogs were genuinely helpful, and the location was convenient and close to where we were meeting friends. We did experience a few challenges during the visit. The HVAC system wasn’t working properly, so we didn’t have air conditioning for the first two nights. The owner came out to assess the issue, and the first night was refunded, which we appreciated. The management company communicated consistently, but the actual resolution didn’t happen until more than halfway through our stay. One of the guest beds was quite worn and had a noticeable dip in the middle, which made it uncomfortable to sleep on. We also noticed a few bugs inside, suggesting the property could benefit from updated pest control. Overall, the owner was kind and responsive, and there were features of the home we truly appreciated. With some attention to the HVAC, bedding, and pest it will be great.

★★★☆☆
Location for wedding weekend ok. All beds and couches uncomfortable and ragged out. Cockroaches in the front bedroom came out both nights. Interior of the neighborhood is sketchy. If you want to walk around stick to the roads that have lakefront homes. For the price the place is average.

We were in town for a wedding and Josh’s place offered a beautiful location across the street from the lake and it was easy to get around. Josh was a friendly and consistent communicator, promptly responding to any inquiries. We were disappointed to have to pay extra for one hour late checkout, and then the cleaner was knocking at our door at 11:00 checkout anyway. She was very kind but we still felt rushed getting out and left early even though we paid extra for a late checkout. Additionally the place need a little love- smelled a little musty upon entering but we quickly adjusted. However, we weren’t able to put our clothes in the master closet because it smelled musty with random items on the floor and top of closet. The shower curtain in the big bathroom had mold along the bottom. And the screened back porch needed some love. We were able to use the chairs without the cushions but they either need to be cleaned or replaced. The door into the house also needs to be cleaned/painted
